I live in an old town
The one place you are going to use 'in' a lot is when people ask you where you live.

In Polish there are two verbs for living - I live (e.g. I live a good life) and I reside (e.g. I live in a house).
We'll use 'I live' in the text and exercises to mean 'I reside' to keep things simple.
- I live (reside) in ... - Mieszkam w ...
So how would you say:
- I live in a house -
- I live in an/the old town -
Note how the 'w' is almost impossible to hear. It should be very soft, not emphasized ... but remember it is there!

Masculine and Neuter nouns
This concept of softening the endings also includes town names. In most cases this is just about adding 'ie'
- I live (reside) in Warsaw - Mieszkam w Warszawie
So how would you say:
- I live in Lublin -
- I live in Kraków -
- I have a house in Olsztyn -
There are many exceptions so if you live somewhere use Google Translate to look up "I live in [town name]" to get the correct soft ending.

'Mieszkam' is an 'am' ending verb in the 'I form' so we can think out the other forms without learning them by using the methods we covered earlier.
Take your time to think out the following phrases. This will making learning future verbs much faster:
- He lives in Warsaw -
- She lives in Kuligów -
- Where does she live? -
- Do you live in Warsaw? -
- Where do you live? -
- We live in Lublin -
- They live in Olsztyn -
- Where do they live? -
- They have a house in Kraków -
