I am going by bus

We've already seen 'idę' as a way of saying 'I am going' but this only covers when you are going somewhere by foot. For all forms of transport we need to know the forms of 'jechac'

Thinking Brain
  • I'm going (using transport) - Jadę

So how would you say, using the verb 'jechać':

  • I'm going by bus -
  • I'm going to town by bus -
  • I'm going to the supermarket by bike -
  • Tomorrow I'm going to town in your car -
Transfer
  • he/she/it goes (by transport) - Jedzie

So how would you say, using the verb 'jechać':

  • She is going by bus -
  • He is going to town by bus -
  • She is going to the supermarket by bike -
  • Tomorrow he is going to town in my car -
Transfer

As always now we have the 'he/she/it' form we can think out the 'you' and 'we' forms.

  • You are going -
  • We are going -

So how would you say:

  • We are going in your car -
  • Are we going by bus? -
  • Are you going in your car? -
  • Are you going to the supermarket by bike? -
Right Hand

And let's get one more mode of transport:

  • Train - Pociąg

Because adding 'em' to 'pociag' would make it difficult to say we make the ending softer by using 'iem'.

  • I am going by train - Jadę pociągiem

We will see this 'softening' by using 'i' in many other areas of the Polish language - this is not a one off! So how would you say:

  • We are going by train -
  • Are we going by train? -
  • She is going by train -
  • Is he going by train? -
