Learn Polish - I like / you like
One of the first questions you will be asked by people you meet is 'what do you like?' so let's get to know this all important verb.
- I like sport - Lubię sport
So how do you think you would say the following phrase. Click the play button to see if you are right.

The way we ask what someone likes is probably familiar to you now. We just add 'czy' to the start of the sentence.
- Do you like jazz? - Czy lubisz jazz? -
Most music genres (jazz, rock, pop, hip-hop, rap) are the same as the English names so try asking a few sentences out loud like 'Do you like pop?'
You might have started to notice some patterns
- The I form of a verb - myślę, mam, lubię - ends in 'ę' or 'm'
- The you (informal) form of a verb - myślisz, masz, lubisz - always ends with 'sz'
These patterns are true for almost all verbs in Polish. Later we'll see how you can work out the other forms (he/she/it/we/they) using these patterns.
