Learn Polish - A normal computer
In this lesson we'll start building sentences with easy to learn vocabulary and discover that if it sounds like a 'k', it should be written as a 'k'!
There is a lot of vocabulary in Polish which is very similar to English. Here are a few:
- komputer
- dokument
- kabel
- hotel
- biznes
One key take away from here is that "if it sounds like a 'k' it is a 'k'" - unlike English where 'c' can also be used to make a 'k' sound.
Sometimes new words come into the Polish language so fast that no Polish changes are made. Here's a couple of examples.
- Bluetooth adapter
- Wifi
'Bluetooth', 'adapter' and 'wifi' keep their spelling but you can hear how 'adapter' and 'wifi' are pronounced in a more Polish way!
'A', 'an' and 'The' do not exist in Polish.
Whether something is 'an' hotel or 'the' hotel is understood by the context of the overall conversation
- An/The ideal hotel - Idealny hotel
