Polish Grammar - Being Bad, he/she/it forms of verbs
It's time to expand our verbs beyond I have/you have, I like/you like, I think/You think and learn he/she/it has/likes/thinks ... as well as how to be bad!
We've already learnt the 'I form' and 'you (informal) form' of several verbs:
- I form - Lubię, Mam, Myślę
- You (informal) form - Lubisz, Masz, Myślisz
To get the 'he/she/it form' we simply knock the sz off the 'you (informal) form'
- Myślisz -> Myśli - he/she/it thinks
Do this yourself outloud for 'Lubisz' and 'Masz'. Click the play buttons below to check you are right.
- he/she/it likes
- he/she/it has
- Bad - Zły
We have seen the letter 'ł' before but just as a reminder this makes the English 'w' sound.
Say 'zły' out loud in the feminine and neutral forms. Click the play buttons below to check you are right.
- bad (feminine)
- bad(neuter)
Note that 'zły' can also mean 'wrong' or 'evil'. It depends on the context. You'll see this in the exercises below.
