So we now have:

• Nowy - New
• Nowszy - Newer
• Najnowszy - Newest

We will see this pattern of adding 'szy' to the end and 'naj' to the front throughout the Polish language. For example:

• Młody - Young
• Młodszy - Younger
• Najmłodszy - Youngest

• Słaby - Weak
• Słabszy - Weakerer
• Najsłabszy - Weakest

Listen out for the characteristic 'szy' and 'naj' sounds when you hear people using adjectives you already know but they are changing them to mean 'more' and 'the most'.
