Tu mieszkam

Sally said 'tu mieszkam'.

In any sentence the location word (tu in this case) drifts towards the start of the sentence but not always the start.

For example: 'Mam tu dom'

• Verb: I have
• Location: here / there
• Thing: a house

This is different to English word ordering where such location words almost always go at the end.

Polish word ordering is fairly relaxed so if you get it wrong and use English word ordering that won't be a problem, everyone will understand you.

However, it is important to be aware of how words are ordered in every day conversation so you can understand what is being said to you and get ultimately it right yourself.
