For 'Good Evening' the word ordering is the same in Polish: Dobry wieczór.
But for 'Good Day' we reverse the word order in Polish so it is literally 'day good': Dzień dobry.
To remember this word ordering imagine the greeting as 'Day (is) Good?'.
Dzień dobry is used as a greeting in both the morning and the afternoon.
There are no such greetings as 'Good morning' or 'Good afternoon' ... so that's one less thing to learn!
